Winner! Finalists in the Design Competition for the New Museum of Architecture and Design

The Architecture and Design Museum is undergoing a transformation and is set to relocate by 2030 to Helsinki’s Makasiiniranta, right next to the Market Square. On this historic harbor site, a new, open, and human-scaled museum building will rise — a space for encounters, experimentation, and inspiration.

An international architectural competition was held for the design of the new museum, attracting an impressive 624 proposals from around the world. The winning entry was “Kumma” by JKMM Architects.

The museum exhibition allows visitors to explore the future building and the design process behind it. The competition finalists, stages, and ideas are presented to the public in a unique and engaging way.
