Tove Jansson Gallery: Artist Family Jansson

The first exhibition at the renewed Tove Jansson Gallery at HAM Helsinki Art Museum, Artist Family Jansson, explores the diverse artistic practices and collaborative projects of the Jansson family. The exhibition features more than 140 works and objects by Signe Hammarsten Jansson, Viktor Jansson, Tove Jansson, Lars Jansson and Per Olov Jansson.

The exhibition offers a glimpse into the family’s bohemian artistic home, where art was an integral part of everyday life. Photographs, artworks and personal objects reveal the family’s creativity, close relationships and shared adventures – an environment that would later influence the Moomin stories that made Tove Jansson an internationally renowned artist.

The exhibition also celebrates the 80th anniversary of the publication of Comet in Moominland. Visitors of all ages can explore the artists’ tools and materials and try their hand at caricature drawing, making the exhibition engaging for children as well as adults.
