Helsinki Design Week

5.–14.9.2025

Helsinki

Helsinki Design Week celebrates its 20th anniversary from September 5–14, with the iconic Suomitalo by the Old Church Park serving as the festival’s main venue. This year’s theme, “Celebration”, reflects the festive spirit of the event, inviting visitors to pause and appreciate achievements while looking toward the future with optimism.

At the heart of the festival is the international main exhibition, Designing Happiness, curated by researcher, educator, and curator Anniina Koivu. The exhibition explores whether happiness can be designed and draws inspiration from the so-called “happiness cocktail” – a combination of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins that shape our experience of well-being and joy. Works by Eero Aarnio, Erwan Bouroullec, Oiva Toikka, Clara von Zweigbergk, and many other leading Finnish and international designers will be on display.
