Growing Design – The natural alchemy of becoming is a lecture and seminar series that explores design through the lens of fungi and fungal mycelium. Fungi are approached as teachers and companions, whose modes of cooperation, entanglement, and sensorial interaction open up new perspectives on growth and transformation. The programme examines how the regenerative and transitional processes embodied by mycelium can support a radical paradigm shift and foster a deeper understanding of growth as a profound, embodied, and sensorially grounded transformation.

The lecturer, Maurizio Montalti, is a designer, researcher, educator, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of design and biotechnology. He is one of the early pioneers in the development of mycelium-based biomaterials and is widely recognised for integrating living systems into material innovation and design practice.

The language of the event is English.
