An integral part of Helsinki Design Week is the Habitare fair, one of Scandinavia’s largest furniture, interior, and design events. This year’s theme, Layers, explores the layers in homes and interiors where old and new elements coexist and evolve over time. Habitare Pro, a dedicated area for professionals, offers events and networking opportunities.
A new feature this year is Teemalava, an intimate space where designers and creatives will discuss their work. On Sunday September 15th Isa Kukkapuro will interview ceramist Karin Widnäs and jewellery designer Björn Weckström, both of whom have received Design Forum Finland’s awards. The Block will showcase four young designers selected for Habitare Talents: Tatu Laakso, Lotta Maija, Riikka Peltola, and Eemeli Sahimaa. Habitare Protos will present prototypes and new product innovations. Both exhibitions are curated by Imu Design. More information
