Vilja Achté: V01D Plushies

V01D Plushies are comforting companions reminiscent of stuffed animals, offering solace and hope for a brighter future. They serve as mascots for living in the present moment. These characters are imagined as fellow travelers who help us cope with the losses brought on by coming environmental changes. In addition to the digitally sculpted post-apocalyptic creatures, the exhibition space features a poetic sound piece inspired by the characters.

Vilja Achté is an artist based in Helsinki. She is interested in the narrative potential of digital media and the ways visual culture is created, interpreted, and theorized in its evolving relationship with software and tools. Achté works as a practice-based doctoral researcher at Aalto University’s Department of Art and Media.
