The Finnish fashion designer Satu Maaranen won the Grand Prix at the International Fashion and Photography Festival in Hyères, Southern France. The winning collection was inspired by landscape, old haute couture and innovative materials and the patterns depict the movements of water. The success of Finnish fashion continues - last year's winners were Elina Laitinen, Siiri Raasakka and Tiia Siren.

More informationMATTI PIKKUJÄMSÄ TO RECEIVE THE RUDOLF KOIVU PRIZE
Matti Pikkujämsä received the Rudolf Koivu illustration prize of 10,000 euros for his illustrations for the book Kaiken maailman eläinsadut (ed. Katriina Kauppila, Otava 2011). Grafia, the Association of Visual Communication Designers in Finland awards the Rudolf Koivu Prize every second year for the best illustrations for children's or young people's books. This prize was awarded for the first time in 1949 to honour the oeuvre of the famous Finnish illustrator Rudolf Koivu.
