Design, responsibility and innovations –
The CSR-driven innovation project
"CSR-driven innovation – Combining design and business in a profitable and sustainable way", a joint Nordic research and development project addressing responsibility driven innovation and design has come under way. The project and the implementation of the research results among small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are coordinated in Finland by Design Forum Finland.
The project aims at creating practical tools for integrating design, innovation and corporate responsibility into the business operations and product development of companies .A catalogue presenting the best cases within profitable CSR-driven innovation solutions will be published in the autumn of 2008, and a handbook for SMEs on how to work strategically with CSR-driven innovation and design in their product development will appear in the spring of 2009, both on a joint Nordic basis.
The project is funded by the Nordic Innovation Centre (NICe) and its implementation at the Nordic level is supervised by the Danish Commerce and Company Agency, an agency under the Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs. The Finnish project partners are Design Forum Finland (DFF), the Finnish Business & Society (FiBS), the Institute for Art Development and Education (IADE) the Helsinki School of Economics (HSE) and the Turku School of Economics (TSE), with funding from Finland's Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
