DESIGN FORUM FINLAND

Design Forum Finland is the promotion organization of Finnish design. It is maintained by the Finnish Society of Crafts and Design, which was founded in 1875. The premises of Design Forum Finland are at no. 7 Erottajankatu Street in central Helsinki, opposite Dianapuisto Park in the heart of Design District Helsinki. A small exhibition space and Design Forum Shop also operate in these premises.

Finland is a design society

The uses and applications of design have expanded. It now has an increasingly central role in everyday life and society in Finland, helping to provide success and international contacts for Finnish businesses. Alongside traditional areas, the design-intensive sector includes marketing media, digital design and the design of brands and services, among others. Design Forum Finland's target groups encompass all these areas.

It is the aim of Design Forum Finland to enhance the design sector and to promote business in Finland. This implies wide-ranging utilization of the opportunities of design in the economy. Design Forum Finland's Road Show project assembles local actors throughout the country, seeking to establish contacts between designers and firms and businesses needing their services. There are also special project clinics providing tools for enterprises in the creative sector to generate better and more profitable business.

The international projects of Design Forum Finland aim at increasing the export of designed products and design expertise. They unite various actors from companies and individual designers to public bodies both in Finland and abroad. The products of Finnish design and related technologies and skills provide increasingly broader visibility and promote the internationalization of business. The main target areas include Central Europe, Russia, Japan and the United States. A strong message of the Finnish innovation society and its creative industries is presented by these projects.
