100 % Finlande – en France printemps 2008

Together with its associates, Design Forum Finland will produce a series of design events as part of the Finnish cultural season in France in 2008.

Among Design Forum Finland events in France will be the exhibition ”Cool Dozen – chair design and textile prints from Finland” from 5 March until 5 April, at the Festival du Cinéma Nordique. During the spring the French Ministry of Culture will be the venue of a furniture exhibition by Finnish interior decoration and design companies.

Le musée des Arts décoratifs in collaboration with Design Forum Finland will stage a showing of contemporary Finnish design entitled "Design contemporain finlandais - Promenons-nous dans le bois" from 29 May to 31 August (opening on 28 May). This exhibition will feature the works of seventeen designers on the theme of wood and the forests. The museum's "107 Rivoli" shop and its display windows will have a Finnish design campaign from 29 May to 30 June.

A fashion show in the spring will present creations by young Finnish fashion designers and companies.

A seminar for invited Finnish and French industrial executives to be held in collaboration with the Finnish Business and Policy Forum EVA later in summer will address the impact of design on competitiveness and innovation in Europe.

Works by Design Forum Shop's Designers of the Month will be on show at the Finnish Institute in Paris, including products by the Rehti group of designers, Mikko Laakkonen, Jari-Petri Voutilainen and Mika Tolvanen, and by furniture designer Elina Järvinen. More information on dates and venues will be posted soon on Design Forum's webpages.
